Adam Kashenberg | CEO
As president and CEO of Colorado Biolabs, Adam has over 15 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry. He has worked in a variety of departments throughout his career, including manufacturing operations, business development, marketing, and finance, leading to a deeper understanding of what it takes to manufacture and sell dietary supplements.
Adam became CEO of Colorado Biolabs in 2019, and is responsible for fueling the significant growth to date. He also currently serves on boards such as Lifeloc Technologies Inc.
Caroline Trillo | Director of Quality
With over 20 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry, Caroline brings a comprehensive background in quality systems, regulatory compliance, and leadership.
She began her career as a chemist and progressed through roles of increasing responsibility, including QC Supervisor, QA Manager, and ultimately Director of Quality. Throughout her career, she has gained hands-on experience across key areas of the Quality Department, including laboratory operations, internal and external auditing regulatory compliance, and consulting.
Her approach is rooted in both technical expertise and strategic oversight, allowing her to support business goals while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Maynor Zamora | Director of Operations
Maynor has over 25 years of progressive experience in the dietary supplement industry. He began his career as a Production Assistant and advanced through roles including Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Plant Manager, and most recently Director of Operations.
This hands-on experience has provided him with a strong foundation in cGMP-compliant manufacturing and packaging operations, as well as end-to-end production planning and execution. In addition to his operational leadership, he has developed broad expertise in ERP systems and IT integration to support efficient, data-driven decision-making across departments.
His experience also includes scheduling, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure compliance, product integrity, and continuous improvement.
Jenny Wang | Validation Chemist
With over 20 years of experience in the dietary supplement and food industry, Jenny brings a strong foundation in pharmaceutical sciences and a deep understanding of quality control processes across all production stages—from raw materials to in-process testing and finished goods.
Her hands-on experience has been instrumental in validating analytical methods, supporting product development, and ensuring regulatory compliance. She possesses advanced technical skills in operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation such as ICP-MS, HPLC, GC, Nitrogen/Protein Assay (Kjeldahl), HPTLC, FTIR, and UV-VIS spectrophotometers, along with their respective data systems. Her problem-solving and critical thinking abilities have consistently contributed to resolving complex quality and production challenges while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Rowena Herrella | R&D Director
With over 21 years of experience in the food and dietary supplement industry, Rowena leads our Research & Development team with a deep expertise spanning Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Innovation. As a certified Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and SQF Practitioner, Rowena combines technical knowledge with a strong regulatory foundation to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality.
Throughout her career, Rowena has guided cross-functional teams in developing innovative formulations, implementing robust food safety systems, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. At Proferrin Labs, Rowena is dedicated to driving science-based product development and delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nutritional solutions to consumers.
Christian Hernandez | Maintenance Manager
With over 15 years of experience in the field of dietary supplement maintenance, Christian has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the largest manufacturers on a global scale.
His extensive expertise encompasses the meticulous upkeep of processes such as blending, compression, encapsulation, and packaging. Christian’s unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with his profound knowledge of industry standards, has rendered him an invaluable asset in ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in production operations.
Nilcar Herrella | Quality Manager
With an impressive background spanning over 25 years in the dietary supplement manufacturing industry, Nilcar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. His extensive experience with some of the largest manufacturers in the United States has given him a profound understanding of quality systems, making him an invaluable asset.
Beyond his professional acumen, Nilcar is also cherished for his lively sense of humor and is affectionately known as the jokester of our group. His ability to blend expertise with a touch of humor creates a dynamic and enjoyable work environment for everyone.
Madelyn Teplansky | Microbiologist
Madelyn graduated from the University of Minnesota Crookston in May 2024 with a B.S. In Biology and a B.S. in Health Sciences.
In her role as a microbiologist, she utilizes her skills with microscopy, aseptic technique, PCR, bacterial culturing, pipetting, technical reporting, research, media preparation, sterilization techniques, bacterial plating, microbiological identification, and sample preparation
